Dr. Bartram is the headmaster of St. Matthew's Preparatory school in the 1992 film School Ties. Not much is revealed about his character, other than that he has led the school for a number of years. Bartram instructs the student body at the beginning of the school year that they are in a very privileged position and must conduct themselves to the highest standards. And well he exhibits a somewhat stuffy, ultraditional mindset, he also displays fairness, expelling Charlie Dillion from the school for cheating and asking David Greene not to leave St. Matt's.

Dr. Bartram is portrayed by Peter Donat.
